Internet Explorer 7 Browser Requirements

Below you will find configuration settings for Internet Explorer 7. Please note that as of 09/24/2010 Internet Explorer 6 is not supported by myUFL. These settings provide the best user experience for the myUFL system (my.ufl.edu) and ensure all portal services will work as expected. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 and 8 are the only officially supported Browsers. This upgrade is a first step in preparing for the financial upgrade that will occur in spring 2011.

Disabling the Popup Blocker

  • Select the 'Tools' menu from the upper right hand corner of the screen
  • Highlight the 'Pop-up Blocker' section of the 'Tools' menu
  • Select 'Turn on pop-up blocker
  • Select the 'Tools' menu from the upper right hand corner of the screen again
  • Highlight the 'Pop-up Blocker' section of the 'Tools' menu
  • Now select 'Pop-up Blocker Settings'
  • Type *.ufl.edu into the 'Address of website to allow:' field
  • Click the 'Add' button to the left of the field and then click 'Close'

Enabling mixed content

  • Go to Tools and select Internet Options
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Ensure that "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" is unchecked

Adding UF sites as 'trusted'

  • Go to Tools and select Internet Options
  • Go to the Security tab and select the green check mark labled Trusted Sites
  • Select the button below the trusted sites box that says Sites
  • Add the sites to be trusted and select Add
  • Sites to be trusted:

o *.ufl.edu UF

o https://*.ufl.edu UF

o http://*.ufl.edu UF

o http://my.ufl.edu Portal

o https://my.ufl.edu Portal

o https://login.ufl.edu Gatorlink Login

o http://reports.cns.ufl.edu Cognos / BI

o http://prod-apache.erp.ufl.edu myReports

Deleting Cache and Cookies

  • Select the 'Tools' menu from the upper right hand corner of the screen
  • Select 'Internet Options' from the 'Tools' menu
  • On the 'General' tab, in the 'Browser History' area, select the 'Settings' button
  • Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages:", select 'Every time I visit the webpage'
  • Click OK
  • On the 'General' tab, in the 'Browser History' area, select the 'Delete' button
  • Select the 'Delete All' button at the bottom of the window
  • Close and reopen the browser
